WHICH WAY?
Battlefield Prayers: Pray Big for 30 Days and Fight for Breakthrough - Day 1
When you don’t know which way to go, you can either ask for directions, or you can drive on and hope you figure it out along the way. I’ve gotten lost many times because I thought I knew which way to go, but I ended up on a dead end. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to be my own GPS. Instead of making progress, I just ended up driving in circles and having to re-trace my steps.
Are you confused about what comes next in your life? Do you need God to guide you and show you which way to go? Sometimes we waste a lot of time trying to figure it out for ourselves before we surrender and just ask Him to show us which way to go. We think we know the way, but God’s way may take us down a road that is out of our comfort zone.
The Psalmist humbly concedes that he does not know which way to go, and he asks God to guide him. His submissive spirit is pleasing to God. He’s giving God the driver’s seat, and he will ride shot gun and let God lead him the right way.
David prays to “know” God’s ways. This isn’t just knowing the facts. To “know” here implies intimacy from a close relationship. It’s more than just head knowledge — it’s experiencing time with God and learning from Him. The “way” is the course of our life. We can choose to walk lead by our own understanding in our self-sufficiency, or we can let God lead us, train us, change us.
What “way” do you need to surrender to God today? Pray big and ask God to have His way in you. Commit to know Him and trust He will guide your next step.
His ways are always better than our ways. The way may be unclear, but He goes before you. Come what may, you will know Him more deeply if you let Him lead the way.
