WAITING WITH HOPE
HOPE FULL: LET GO OF ANXIETY & LIVE WITH FAITH-FILLED ANTICIPATION-DAY 16
I accepted the proposal on Christmas Eve in 2008, and the wait for the fulfillment was a joyous season of celebration. The “in between” period seemed short because I knew what was coming. The certainty of the expected consummation filled me with confidence.
The Psalmist waits with hope as he endures affliction because he is assured of a victorious outcome. As a servant commissioned in God’s army, he has total trust in the Defender Who stands between him and the enemy and serves as his help and shield. This constant protection ensures his complete peace.
You and I can take note of how the Psalmist waits well and learn from his example:
He looks ahead with faith-filled expectation. Instead of being consumed by fear during a difficult season, he anticipates the fulfillment of God’s promise.
He rejoices in the faithfulness of God. His anxiety about his troubles get smaller as his focus on the Lord’s steadfastness grows larger.
He prays for God’s favor: “May your unfailing love be with us Lord.” (Psalm 33:22)
Let’s celebrate that our hope rests secure in the hands of a God who will never fail us. This “in between” period of waiting with hope will soon pass, and a glorious future awaits us. No enemy will ever foil the plans of our faithful God.
