SEEKER
Announcing our next study starting on Monday, April 29th.
WHAT ARE YOU SEEKING?
In a 2023 CNBC article, a psychotherapist outlined what she had gleaned from her clients regarding what people want most out of life. This mental health professional had spent a decade listening to people share how they were seeking joy, but were finding it hard to discover. The endless pursuit for more had only led to greater unhappiness.
We yearn to connect with others and know we are loved.
We long to be understood and noticed. We want to feel like we belong.
We want to have the freedom to choose, the power to determine our future, and the joy of reaching our dream of success.
Basically, we want it all.
But we struggle to find what our soul needs to thrive.
The world tells us to strive for what we want. All we need is more willpower and motivation. With more grit, we can create our own desired outcome.
But that’s a lie.
We just end up exhausted and empty and wondering if it’s really worth it.
Jesus came to set us free from the futile pursuit of selfish living. He offers us an invitation:
Follow me.
If we are willing to surrender our way and pick up our cross, we will gain everything we desire.
In Christ, we are understood and noticed. His love surpasses all lesser loves. No other pursuit proves fruitful.
Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be…Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?...So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Matthew 6:19-33, NLT
Let’s spend the next 30 days reading through the gospel of Matthew together and ask the Holy Spirit to teach us how to say no to our way and yes to following Jesus.

This will be a great study. Looking forward to this.
Yes 🙌🏼 I’m so excited 🥳
