PRECIOUS
PSALMS - Day 6
A pearl is a precious jewel cultivated under the covering of a shell. As it rests within the soft tissue of this shelter, the vulnerable pearl is kept safe from predators. A small percentage of irritants do actually penetrate this safe haven, but a sac is formed to envelop the intruder and form the pearl.
The Psalmist calls God’s unfailing love “priceless” mirroring the words used to describe a jewel that is precious, extremely rare, and beyond valuable. When we prize something that carries “weight” in our hearts, we reveal our intimate concern and personal investment. God has promised to protect us as His beloved children, and any affliction that he allows to come near us will simply be used to develop us into a precious jewel in His crown of glory.
With God as our refuge, we can confidently trust we will rest secure and endure whatever difficulty may come because we are fully shielded and protected by His love and mercy.
