In 1983, my car radio blared Cyndi Lauper singing her new single, which repeated the line, “Girls, just wanna have fun” over and over again. The refrain got stuck in my head, and I must confess I sang those words as if I truly believed them deep in my heart. What we continually replay in our minds can become the theme of our lives.
