Need a reality check?
Let's spend 30 days in Proverbs together to help recalibrate our unsteady hearts.
“These are the wise sayings of Solomon,
David’s son, Israel’s king—
Written down so we’ll know how to live well and right,
to understand what life means and where it’s going;
A manual for living,
for learning what’s right and just and fair;
To teach the inexperienced the ropes
and give our young people a grasp on reality.
There’s something here also for seasoned men and women,
still a thing or two for the experienced to learn—
Fresh wisdom to probe and penetrate,
the rhymes and reasons of wise men and women.”
Proverbs 1:1-6, MSG
Sometimes our heart lies to us. We get weighed down with anxiety and fear because our world seems to be falling apart. Instead of holding on to God’s Word and letting His wisdom guide our steps, we end up ruled by our erratic emotions. What we need is a reality check.
God has given us the book of Proverbs to help us recalibrate our unsteady heart. The thirty-one chapters in His book of wisdom can help us make well-informed choices when life is complicated and messy. Over the next thirty days, we will talk about how to deal with conflict, how we should spend our money, and why we should not always let our emotions lead us.
Here’s what you can look forward to as we dig into God’s book of wisdom:
