FOR THE GOOD
TRANSFORMED: GIVE GOD CONTROL OF YOUR THINKING AND LIVE FULLY CONVINCED OF HIS LOVE - DAY 11
After five decades of life, I can now look back at some of the hardest seasons of my life and see how God providentially was working behind the scenes to bring something good out of a very difficult situation.
That fabulous job I unexpectedly lost? Yep, I am grateful for that turn of events. I ended up becoming a writer in full-time ministry as a result.
That man who didn’t want to marry me? Well, God sent me a better dude to walk through life with, and I am incredibly thankful.
In these powerful verses to the believers in Rome, Paul unpacks three reasons you and I can look to the future with confidence and courage:
The Holy Spirit partners with us in prayer. Your very groans are heard by the King of Kings in heaven. (Romans 8:26-27)
God remains at work in our lives to bring redemption. No scheme of the enemy will stand. His goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life. (Romans 8:28)
Our suffering serves a sanctifying purpose to make us more like our Savior. As you respond with faith-filled resilience to adversity, God will perform a transforming work in you to develop the character of Christ in you. (Romans 8:28-29)
Friend, God will providentially allow tribulation to transpire in your life for your good and for His glory.
