ENTER IN
Unstoppable Faith: Overcoming Adversity & Living Empowered by the Spirit - Day 21
Today I got a message from my dear friend who is a strong believer and married to a military veteran. She had joined an online book club group for wives of former serviceman, and the Holy Spirit had burdened her heart for the souls of the women she met. She quickly realized that what she thought would be a fun group where she could read fiction was actually filled with worldly women far from Christ. She had just discovered her mission field.
Can I confess that I probably would have felt uncomfortable by the inappropriate conversations in the group and removed myself as a member. But my dear friend has taught me a valuable lesson by her example — Sometimes God calls us to enter in to uninviting places to introduce a lost soul to Jesus.
Paul had faced intense persecution from the devout Jews at the synagogue when he had visited several cities. But he does not let that opposition deter him from entering in to the synagogue at Ephesus. He is a man on a mission, and he must do the work God has called him to do.
Friend, you and I are not responsible for how people respond to the message of the gospel. We are simply called to enter in and share the Good News. Like Paul, we can determine to “speak boldly” with Spirit-led courage and confidence. Let’s not hold anything back because we know the truth, and the truth sets souls free.
Maybe you think you lack the words and skills to “argue persuasively” like Paul, but the same Holy Spirit who empowered Paul and raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. The Divine Teacher schools us in how to speak and supernaturally puts words in our mouths. We simply need to surrender our lives and open up our lips.
Where is God calling you to enter in and engage with a lost soul today? Don’t hesitate to go.
