CONFIDENT ASSURANCE
PSALMS - DAY 6
We were watching a basketball game, and my husband was on the edge of his seat in anxiety. Every play was a tipping point that could have turned the tide of the game, and he was uncertain of the outcome.
I, however, sat calmly typing away on my laptop while he cringed. You see, we were watching a recording of the athletic contest, and I had gotten a glimpse of the final score. I knew my team was the victor, and this filled me with confidence.
I wish I could say that I have the same confident assurance about everything else in life, but I don’t. I will often let worry consume my thoughts. I fret about how things will turn out for my family.
The Psalmist begins his petition in anguish, but by the time he finishes his cry to God, he is filled with certainty. Three times here he notes that God has heard his prayer, and he knows God will respond.
The Psalmist knows God is his Deliverer.
Friend, God is your Deliverer, too. The end of your story will be triumphant. God will wipe away all the shame, and He will get the glory in your life.
The outcome is certain. Rest in that reality today with a confident assurance.
This week, we will be in Psalms again.
Starting next Monday - March 4th, we will begin our next study - Shine: Living Like a Bright Light in a Dark World.
