Unstoppable Faith: Overcoming Adversity & Living Empowered by the Spirit - Day 16
During my first year of teaching, I was blessed to be assigned a mentor teacher who was experienced in the classroom and came alongside me to encourage me as a novice. This wise adviser could look ahead at the year and see the unforeseen obstacles ahead and offer advice to help me prepare to meet the challenge.
As a spiritual father to the early church, Paul came alongside and counseled these new believers to not be caught off guard by tribulation. They needed to prepare in advance for difficult times so that the adverse pressure of affliction would not crush them.
Paul had experienced persecution throughout his ministry, so he was the perfect person to preach this timeless message: “remain true to the faith” even when it’s hard. Troubles cannot topple us if we resolve to establish our hearts to honor God, stand firm on aligning our thoughts to the Truth of His Word, and commit to act in obedience.
Friend, today we can encourage one another to continue pursuing Christ no matter what. Let’s come alongside one another and continue to meet the challenge together.
