My friend and I spent a lovely afternoon at an art studio working on pottery pieces. I was mesmerized by a dazzling composition displayed on the wall of the workshop. The artist had glued together broken pieces of pottery to create an imaginative collage. The many-colored shards of clay which others would have considered trash were beautifully transformed and given new life.
Perhaps like me you are holding on to the scraps of something you treasured, but that shattered into a million tiny unrecognizable pieces. Damaged relationships and crumbled dreams can leave us feeling like we are standing in a wasteland full of ashes. The enemy of our soul wants us to believe our future is irrevocably fractured.
Friend, God sees every fragment. He draws near to our broken hearts and sees us with the creative eye and touches our lives with His care and compassion. We can trust He will beautifully transform what we surrender to Him and bring beauty.
God has designed redemption for you and I. Not one moment of our lives will be wasted. Each will be marked by His saving grace. He has promised to turn our mourning into dancing, crown us with a garland of joy, and make all things new. A beautiful transformation is certainly coming.
