APPROACHABLE
STAND UP: DARE TO TRIUMPH DAILY OVER OPPOSITION ARMED WITH GOD’S ARSENAL OF SPIRITUAL WEAPONS (20 DAYS IN EPHESIANS) - DAY 6
Called the “People’s Princess” and “the Queen of Hearts,” Lady Diana Spenser was beloved by the British public. Her warm and engaging nature captured the hearts of even cynical American journalists. In a piece for the LA Times, journalist Carla Hall described her as: “. . . a modern, approachable woman drafted into a fusty, dowdy royal family.”
A welcoming disposition leaves a lasting impression on people. Paul says that Christ followers can draw near to an accessible Heavenly Father thanks for the finished work of Christ on the cross. Yes, we may face big problems today, but we have a big God whose eternal purpose cannot be thwarted. He assures us that every chaotic circumstance that seemingly spirals out of our control will ultimately serve God’s sovereign purpose.
The enemy of our soul wants us to believe that God will forever frown upon all our faults. However, because Jesus carried our cross and paid our debt, we can come boldly before God’s throne of grace with no reservations. Sin and shame do not get to define our past nor shape our future. We can express exactly who we are and how we feel with no fear of vengeful retribution. When we place our faith in Christ, we gain freedom and full access to a very reachable God who welcomes us in and forever receives us.
Friend, your Savior remains continually approachable and ready to listen to your every concern. He has rescued you and re-branded you as His heir, a member of His body, and a sharer in His faithful promise. Suffering does not need to discourage us because God will ultimately get the glory.
